‘Doctor Marvello’ is a terrific tune. The lyrics on that rap version are horrendous, it has a good arrangement though. Somehow it’s good to see rap fans discovering Klaatu so they can see how real music sounds like.

I’m feeling both versions of this song. I’m a big rap fan and I love G-Unit. I was looking through the CD insert on “Beg for Mercy” and saw “elements from Dr.Marvello. “Lay Your Ass Down” was my jam on that album. So much that I went and googled this “Dr Marvello” song . I found a download of the song from this blog right here, and now there’s one more person that heard the original. Whether you like rap or not, you can appreciate the fact that people got a chance to listen to the original. I think whoever produced “lay you down”(it says Khali for sol Music Works) did a good job at adapting it into a hip hop track

Since Kanye West produced several hits where he left the vocals of the original song he sampled playing through the whole track, I’m sure rap producers don’t feel the need to isolate the instrumental parts anymore. Look at it as artistic license. Not that this G-Unit song is artistic.
