August 8 / Red Raven Carousel in action!
Shortly after posting my round up of vinyl video implementations, the eBay market price for the carousels used to view Red Raven Animation records dropped significantly, and I was able to pick one up for far cheaper than they were selling a year ago. In the course of researching the previous article, I'd found plenty of visuals of the animation contained on the records, but no footage of the actual records themselves in action, which is really where the appeal lies. So, without further ado, here is a short video clip - just click on the image below. The record is playing at 45 RPM since my turntable doesn't do 78.

Interesting. Did you know the singer is female? I sped the audio up to full speed and it's typical "for children" recording - syrupy female voice.
If you're tinkering this video up faster, it needs to go at 173.3% of the speed you recorded it at, and get it to *not* preserve pitch. Which I've been unable to do in iMovie.

I'm a preschool teacher and have two red raven records. One label is missing on one side. I do have the mirrored caroursel, too, and an old record player with 78 rpm. My kids call it the big CD movie. They love it. |

I am still looking for this Carousel for kiddies' 78 rpm records. It is a gadget which has 16 mirrors fixed to it and is shaped like a circus tent. It sits on a Red Raven record.

Jim Ive extracted the audio in this video to the number you said like 173.3% faster and it does sound female, I used goldWave to make it play faster, id like you to hear it but i have no way of getting the finished file to you |

I live in Australia and collect the Red Raven Records. As I can only seem to find them in America... the postage kills me.

I noticed so many repeats of my request to buy a carousel for 78 rpm Red Raven records made about two years ago.
